Questionnaire/Interview Questions

For my questionnaire I will be asking questions that relate to how popular films are with the public and questions that define my audience, such as:

1) Age?

2)  Gender?

3)   Location?

4) What genre of film appeals to you? Why?

5) What was the most recent trailer you have seen? Do you want to see that film? Why do you feel that way?

6)  Do you prefer to watch a film in the cinema or wait until it is on DVD? Why?

7) Which upcoming film, in the next two years, are you interested to see? Why is that?

8) Which Actor/Actress has your interest? Why? What film did you first see them?

9) Do you prefer films to plays? Why/Why not?

10) What do you think makes a film popular?

Target Audience Identification

I had originally planned for my target audience to be film-lovers, but have decided to break it down a little bit.
I had decided to make my target audience 16-55. Thus the range contains a teenagers point of view, a middle-aged point of view and and oldish persons point of view.
This range is important because as you grow older your point of view and likes/dislikes change.

Unit 3.2-Secondary Results

Before I started researching what affects film popularity, my theory was 'The film popularity will me affected more by Actors/Actresses than genre'.

However, after the research I found out that I was wrong, the genre affected the film popularity more.

I didn't expect this, thus I was surprised.

Unit 3.2-Primary Results

For the primary research I used a questionnaire asking about their preferred genre and actor/actress.

The results showed that their favourite genre was in the top ten favourite genres.
However their favourite actors and actresses were not in the list of favourite actors/actresses or in the top 50 films.
Thus meaning that genre affects the film popularity more.
