To see if Actors affect how popular films are, I used IMDb to find a list of the top 10 best actors:
1.Al Pacino
2. Christian Bale
3. Robert De Niro
4. Russell Crowe
5. Brad Pitt
6. Denzel Washington
7. Leonardo DiCaprio
8. Jack Nicholson
9. Sean Connery
10. Tom Hanks
This list informs me of who the top ten popular actors. I need this list to cross-reference between the popular films to see if the actors are in the popular films. This would tell me if the actors affect the popularity of a film.
